Phone echo and text messages not playing

My 2024 has no ability to display or read txt messages when connected to my Apple phone via Bluetooth.

Mazda infotainment has options for Phone and Music and I have both selected. There is no option available for text messages.

Go into the phone menu, select settings and look for TEXT msgs.

There is no phone menu, just this screen that allows choice of Phone and/or Audio.

I am curiious about where this is going as well. I don't think my 2025 gives the option ot texting through the Mazda software. It will read the text in a computer like tone but there is no option to respond.

Yeah, it displays and reads incoming text messages so you can continue to be "hands-free". I am not sure if you can respond—I haven't tried.

Is your phone connected via Bluetooth in addition to Android Auto? If it is try disabling that connection.

I tried this last night. When I disable Bluetooth, then start Android auto the Bluetooth gets automatically activated.

Never was an option to respond, you need to pull over and send the text through your phone.

This is why android auto is so nice when it works! It makes it so much better.
