PG Pump Installed

Some people fail to realize that dyno's are only good to the individual when you USE THE SAME DYNO!!!!. Theres nothing bad about using a dyno for power reads but if you keep dyno hopping how are you supposed to know which one to believe? I decided to use this local dyno for my MS3 that I used while I had my cobalt. Its the 4th dyno I've ever been to with my cobalt but if I keep using it from when im stock to when im modded in my MS3 the peak Hp numbers don't matter any more cause i'll be able to see what im gaining in the middle for each set of mods i do.

Also don't look at a DIFFERENT companies pump thats on a DIFFERENT car then an MS3 and apply the results to your self. Thats silly. If any of the MS3 guys dyno i would base more stuff off that the the MS6 when It defiantly seems that the MS6 ECU is different that the MS3

Agreed!

Dyno time scheduled tomorrow at 1:30 PM:)

Derek88's MS3 first. (PG race pipe/ MSCai). Then mine..... hopefully with lots of charts and pics. Thats gonna be Dereks job:) Hes the computer guru.

BTW... my car rips. My other mods felt like "upgrades". This feels like a new car. Low and high RPM.... ALL gears. Were gonna try to turn up the boost a little as well.... but I dont have a damn bcd, so it wont be much.

Im excited guys... I think Im gonna make a ton of power.

bump

also if this is true the why when you had a map clamp or FCD you get the same results with out the extra fuel from he fuel pump? wouldnt that indicate a a tunning issue instead of need for a huge fuel pump to compensate??

here is a copy of my dyno with the wide band connected at 18psi. do you see and signs of a lean condition or running out of fuel?? this is why its hard for me to believe that a larger fuel pump on the stock turbo will do any good. Im thinking this larger fuel pump you guys are getting is just a band aide for a simple tunning issue that can be fixed using the stock fuel pump/ any ideas??

when i have more information for people it will be posted. numerous avenues are being explored and a few new pumps are in customers' hands for testing.

Hey nig I think the stock pump had a big lean hump at the onset of boost. Your tuner smoothed yours out well but you still have a 13:1 at 3000 and even a tad leaner aproaching 3500. The bigger pumps seem to be able to get this number down in the 12's sooner. You peak your boost at 17.84 at 3200 the sime point you have a 13.5:1 afr down low.

look closer, the small dots arent consistent with the marks at the end of the graph. my car is closer to 12:1 afr at peak boost, thats fine for these motors and BTW im running stock ecu with no tune.

Also i just data logged my car several times with the snap on modis scanner and, even after turning the boost back up to 18+psi i couldnt get the car to sputter, pfhhh... that figures hahaaha! anyways even at 18+psi the car showed no sign of loosing fuel pressure and the afr's looked fine. I really think this is a tuning issue rather than a lack of fuel issue. The pump your using is just dumpping more fuel in to bandaide somthing a reflash or EM could fix. NOT SURE THOUGH HOPE TO FIND OUT SOON

Ok I though you were tuned. Those are the smoothest graphs I have seen. you say that you connected the Modis to the car? I have a Modis and I can't read anything. What connectors are you using? ie obd 2 key 16? 21? can adapter?

your not making enough power to run out of fuel. 270whp is low for 18psi and whatever else mods you have on there.

i believe key 20, and you must go under generic obd11 because our wasnt updated to 08. it shows everything in real time, then you select save all graphs and then make a run, then go down to some other menu to veiw the data log. i was hoping the car would act up again but it ran smooth the whole time spiking to 21psi then settling down to 18psi. fuel pressure stayed consistant the whole time only dropping between shifts. lack of fuel definatly not the problem with my cars sputtering problem. it does remind me of the same feeling/ jerkyness i had with my turbo civic when the plugs would start to foul out. im thinking maybe i should check my plugs for the hell of it. IDK???

well the dyno i was ran on a stock ms3 put down like 23owhp so im pretty sure im making enough power. hell on a dynodynamics dyno i would be right around the 300whp range.

I would check your plugs. These pics are my original OEM plugs...

so you made 40whp over stock and you think your going to run out of fuel? Im not a fan of dynoes anyway, but trust me. Your simply not makign enough power. What exactly are your mods.

My power mods are CAI, boost controller 17psi, CS downpipe, deleted cats.

and also hell no i dont think im running out of fuel, thats my argument actually. its everyone else on this forum thats telling me that im running out of fuel, but i dont believe it.

what are your mods? running an intake and 18psi in warm weather is not enough to run out of fuel
