I’m New to the group, MP5- 15,000 miles.
Has anyone out there tried the FS-ZE intake, exhaust cams &/or Piston set? If so, what increases have you seen?
Also, anyone running Nitrous?
Any help is appreciated!
Jeff

i cant say that i have. So the make a piston set for the 5 now which is cool. I dont trust the name but maybe its alright. I want to run Nitrous but someone told me it was a waste of time. Eventually, i will though. So when that person races me, he'll be wasting mine! :o :D

Thanks Korey.
I just added the Injen CAI. Sounds great, but I don't notice much improvement. Anyone else have one installed?

FYI: Mitch @ Protege5online did a great job of getting everything to me quickly!

Yeah, I have the injen and didnt see very much of a power gain either. On Racing Beat's webpage they said they were looking at producing an intake but didnt pursue it because of the cars ECU not allowing a significant gain or something. I think they were right. It seems Ive traded Off the line torque for more torque in 2nd gear. I'd really like to test a stock, short-ram, and CAI at the same time and feel the difference.

:D KeN :D

So someone tell me....

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST BANG FOR THE BUCK??

Header, Cams, CAI, Cat-Back, Pistons, Injectors??????

If I want to do all, what is the preferred order of install?

Headers and Cams usually give you significant gains, then injectors. intakes and exhausts are basically accessories that add a few each. pistons don't really add power, unless they are lightweight, creating less mass. They are usually installed to strengthen the engine~~don't forget about that crank, that will be the first to go if you got too much power going to it.
If you plan to do major mods like forced induction, juice. Lower and upper end (crank/pistons and cams valve train, respectively) should be able to meet the pressures that will be exerted on them. So that would be my first route. Although, as soon as you open up that motor yourself, oohh, ohh, ahhh, there went the warranty.

pistons can add power....if you get the right ones. like domed or wedged pistons. they can increse your compression ratio. but make SURE that they wont hit your valves when they are at tdc.

yup, true, or if they are lighter weight pistons, but in general, why you add them is to strengthen.

Well i ordered some FS-ZE parts, and for those who dont know what FS-ZE is, thats the SPORT20 japanese version of our cars. Once i get them installed i'll let you know what my thoughts are about them and i will have a full dyno chart to show gains.

P5PCU,

I am anxiously awaiting your review of the mods listed. Those are the exact mods I am interested in.
