Ok so i have this oem rad i bought , and with the msp rubber stoppers and msp brackets the radiator wont fit. the radiator seems too short, am i suposed to use some p5 hardware of any sort or is the radiator made too short? I have nothing to reference it too.

thanks

I dont have a concrete answer but i think the support brackets are different at the top....And what are you doing with the old radiator?

*THREADJACK/ON*
What other stock MSP parts you got lying around
*THREADJACK/OFF*

i sold my stock kit i think all i have left is a fuel rail and some other small pparts.

This has been answered. But you do need the p5 Radiator brackets. I also recommend the p5 upper radiator hose. It is a bit longer and will fit better. The stock one has to stretch a little bit.

I bought the items from mazdastuff.com
Here are the part numbers:
ZL01-15-240A Right radiator bracket $7.13
ZL01-15-250 Left radiator bracket $7.13
FP47-15-186C Upper radiator hose $12.94

Shipping by UPS ground in the 48 states $7.00
Total $34.20

I never noticed the top hose stretching... I'd keep the MSP silicion hose instead of buying a rubber P5 hose. Just my thoughts.

Here is a couple pics of the stock MSP hose and the p5 hose on the car.
The first pic is the stock hose which you can tell is a bit short. Look at where the hose connects to the radiator you can see the gap from the stopper. It also looked the same on the block side. If I pulled it to both stoppers the hose was stretched. I didn't like it.

The second pic is the P5 hose. you can tell it is a bit longer, and fits much better IMO.

Now the MSP hose is probably a hair better but none of us should have any issues with either. I figured for $12 might as well get the correct length hose. The MSP hose would have been fine but it was just my choice.

Werd, I'll look at my hose tomorrow. Now that I think about it, there might be a small gap between the endtank tube's stopper and the hose...

Ummmm...Nope....+Rep for whoever figures it out....Its easy..(yawn)

Ummmm, duh? I thought it was obvious that I knew what movie we were talking about when I quoted another line from it.

Oh and terbow, just in case you didn't get it from me or the other 3 people who told you... you need the P5 upper brackets, mmkay?;)

Oh and BTW, try a local wrecking yard first for the brackets. I picked up a pair for 5 bucks, and after a quick solvent bath and a little touch up with a rattle can, they are good as new.
