In short, my 04 Mazda3 is having shifting problems. It's throwing codes PO733 & PO734 (incorrect gear ratio for gears 3 and 4). Before replacing the transmission, I'm trying to rule everything out. I've pulled the solenoids and tried to test them, to the best of my knowledge they're supposed to make a "click" when power is put to them, but that doesn't seem to be happening. I'm curious if anyone knows how the PCM commands the solenoids. Does it command voltage or ground? Does it pulse? I'd appreciate any knowledgeable feedback. Thanks.
