Pciture of my new baby I will be picking up tomorrow....maybe!

It is the photo out of the add I found the car in. If all goes well tomorrow I will be picking it up and being the new owner of it.

Not gonna count my pennies till they are in the bank, but still some eye candy.

Excuse the crappy quality...it touched it up a bit so it is a lot better than before. If I get it I will try and get some better ones.

Oh! It is a 1969 Chevy Camaro SS! Will be the 3rd one my family has owned, and the second we currently own. This would be mine, and my dad has his!(cool)

Lucky bastard!! :)

Congrats Andrew.

damn man, that is awesome. those are my favorite muscle car of all, and your family now has two. bet your gonna be doin alot of this(dance), and alot of these (burnout). I will do this (humpleg) until you give me a ride in one.

My uncle has a 69 ss that now runs 11's. probably why i am so in love with the 69 camaro.

Some specs. I don't have DETAILS yet but I do know the following.

It has a 350 small block, 400 turbo trans, its an auto(B&M Shifter), I don't recall if the sales man said it had a shift kit or not.

Has crager wheels(the nice wheels from back in the day)

I am gonna go take a look at it tomorrow! I almost didn't get the car because everyone I called on insurance wante dlike 500 a month cause I was 21. Than the LAST number in the phone book I called only wants 70 bucks a month. Go Farmers Insurance!

Anyways, I will post details tomorrow on the car if I get her!

check out esurance.com. for me they are cheaper than anything else out there.

Kind of an update...the sales person I talked to really doesn't know what is under the hood.

He said it is either a 400 or a 350...anyways, I will have to find out when I go up there around 3:00ish.

stupid sales men.

Nice car, but they are a dime a dozen. Congrats!
Thanks for the congrats, but a cherry 69 SS isn't a dime a dozen. It is one of the harder old cars to find.

There are A LOT of fakes floating around, or frankensteins of the camaros...but a true 69 SS....hard to find, and aren't cheap in this condition.

Now...mustangs on the other hand...they are a dime a dozen.

I stand corrected.

Ok, so some updates! Some good ones at that!

I went and took a look at the car yesterday, no test drive...roads are reallly bad right now cause of snow.

So the numbers match, except the engine. It isn't the original 350...but the 350 that is in it is from another 69, so that is better than any plain old 350! The dealership has absolutly no ******* idea they have a car worth about 30k sitting in the show room.

They told me it is being sold for 12.5k because the mustangs they have around the same age are the same price. Ok...works for me!

The interior is ORIGINAL and nice! Whoever had this car took care of it! The only thing on the inside that isn't original is a cd player that was installed and 2 speakers! That is an easy fix back to original. The steering wheel is some cheese of a racing wheel...gonna have to fix that if I get it.

Oh, and there is a pod cluster mounted inside for keeping an eye on the vitals.

So as for the interior...nothing major, all easy fixes to get back to factory original. Which I want.

As for the outside, the paint isn't the original color(again, easy fix...cost a little, but easy) and there are 2 chips in the paint on the front passenger side fender looks like something a rock would do off a dump truck...no bigger.

In the trunk, some small rust nothing major that can easily be fixed and cleaned up.

All in all the car is in fantastic condition for its age, and aside from a few SMALL things inside, and the damn paintjob its all original....worth a hell of a lot more than the $12.5 they are seeking.

time to call the old man and let him know whats up, and see what we wanna do!

So it isn't "fully restored" persay. It sounds like any other decent driver 69 Camaro with a non matching numbers motor. Still a great car to own and drive. Plus, you can buy complete new crate bodies for 69s so you could cure your rust real quick for only another $12,500.

The car isn't "restored" at all...its in its original condition aside from a new paint job.

It is almost impossible to find a Camaro 67-69 with everything matching. The last one I seen with all numbers matching was commanding a $65,000 price tag....worth it too, it however was completely original with only 3,800 original miles.

The one I looked at is in fantastic condition, and I could remove the rust in a matter of an hour. It is just about 3 small surface spots in the trunk, could be taken away with a dremell and a steady hand without coming back..same thing a shop would do.

If I get the car the only things I will do to it is put an original radio back in, with original speakers(already have one at my dads) get an original 69 steering wheel, and redo the paint back to original factory colors.

Now if I was able to track down the original block....oh baby!

It just seems the story with the car is the original engine gave out, and the paint was faded so at some point its owner put another 350 in it and painted it a color scheme he likes. Which is a lot better than a restored car.

Mustang? oooohhh I shutter at the thought of a mustang..in the words of the great Shelby "A mustang is a secritaries car". That is what he told ford when they came to him and asked of them to take the Mustang and make it a better.

I am however looking at a 69 Chevy Camaro SS.

Oh, yes.....it is calling for me! I want it and it wants me!
