Panasonic vs. Pioneer?

Out of the pioneer category I was leaning more towards these three :

Pioneer DEH-P7700MP
Pioneer DEH-P8MP
Pioneer DEH-P840MP or DEH-960MP

Panasonic CQ-C8300 MP3
Panasonic CQ-C9901U (a little out of my normal price range but looks nice)

Disclamier ( some of the headunits listed above are not black but hey they will have to do) (laugh)

Hey guys, I am in the market for a new cd player. I am looking to spend between 200-300 for the cd player. I would like your input on the panasonic and pioneer headunits. I was kinda leaning more towards panasonic because they have black head units and they match my black mica sedan. (yes im anal)

Any input would be great....if you prefer a different headunit, please post why.

I have the Panasonic CQ-C8400U, and I like it, but it kinda skips some, and i dunno, feels kinda cheap. I'd rather have a Pioneer.

I worked in a stereo shop 10 years ago, and even then ,the Pioneer stuff was bulletproof.
I would return 10 Sony head units to every 1 Pioneer head units for repair.
I will be selling my stock POS Kenwwod in the near future and going back to Pioneer.

Pioneer premier.

Amen brother! I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP and I LOVE IT. You can adjust some much of the sound and make it sound perfect. The DEH-P960MP is good too, but my friend has problems with the face not making contact with the board on back when the screen is down occassionally. But anyways, yeah, Pioneer all the way.

Nice choice, I'm glad you didn't go Panasonic. 1sty can confirm....but isn't Pana still made by Matsushita?(sp) or is it Fujitsu? I can't remember. Both of which aren't THAT bad but not the pinicle of quality.

If it was me I would go with the 7700MP, the others are a little too much for my blood. Wasn't your budget 200-300?

Ya, Matsushita is the parent company of Panasonic, National, Technics and I am sure a number of other brands. Panasonic makes good stuff, but Pioneer easily is the better choice.
