i see that there is a sticky for tires, rims and suspension but nothing on pads and rotors or even break kits for our cars. i know that our cars (ms6) have been out for 2-3 years now and i have heard of people by now putting over at least 30,000 miles or more so there should be a lot to discuss... so maybe we can start up something with people opinions on them all. if not oh well i tried lol

so far my ebc reds have saved my ass multiple times, no problems other than some noise slowing to a stop, and some dust. but they work really well.

I've done some research with this, and it seems like your rotor choice determines which pads you should go with.

If you're planning on sticking with stock or blank rotors, then you've got any option for pads. If you choose to go with slotted rotors, then you're going to want a harder pad, so you're not burning through them quickly. In this case, a set of Hawk HPS pads would probably be your best bet. For cross drilled rotors, they're not as rough on pads as the slotted are, so EBC or Hawks would work without too much trouble.

EBC's website is a bit muddled in terms of which pads are best for which application, but from talking to owners who've run both and with different rotor combinations, the Red stuff seem to be the best bet on our cars, but not with slotted rotors.

green are designed for 250crank hp and under/or a smaller/lighter performance vehicles, red are for applications above 250crank horsepower and a heavier larger vehicle. ceramic pads work very well on crossdrilled and slotted rotors. and like most higher than stock performance parts considered to be wear and tear items (spark plugs, pads, rotors, bushings etc) you trade off on better performance for a shortened 'half life'

Help with crappy OEM Rotors

I have come to the unfortunate time in my ownership of my MS6 when I have to pay the price for 14 sec 1/4 mile times and autocross nights! I have been shopping for replacement front brakes. Has anyone else encountered the phenomenon of having to replace rotors with the 1st set of pads? My Dealership tells me that is becoming the norm. They also want (CAN) $316.00 for the front pair of (genuine MS6) rotors and $199.52 for the pads (argh). Anyway I am looking for aftermarket parts with the best combination of longevity and performance. I am so displeased with the OEM rotors that I actually am thinking stainless for twice the price. Oh, by the way today, when driving away from the Dealership my clutch started to slip... Insult to injury! Anyone really happy with what they are running?

Help with crappy OEM Rotors

I decided to go with Hawk Street Pads and Stoptech slotted rotors. I will post the results.

I picked up a set(4) of StopTech slotted rotors and EBC Redstuff pads all around. So far, I've had no problems with the setup. Pads seem to be holding up well, less dust than the stock setup and much more stopping power that stock. I've heard the Hawk HPS pads are on the same level, if not better than the EBC Redstuff pads.

just wondering if any of the guys that have replaced their front rotors would still have there oem front rotors that still have some life on them??? im working on doing at ms6 brake swap on my 6... i would greatly appreciate if someone was looking to get rid of their stock rotors for fairly cheap... thanks to anyone for the help

also i've got some rear rotors and hawk hps pads so once i get everything installed i can post up how the hawks hold up
