I thought this was pretty cool, so I had to share it with you guys. I was on the highway the other day, clipping along at about 70, when a new Lancer with an exhaust system and rims starts coming up on my ass hard. He weaves lanes, and goes by me.
Now I am in my P5 w/ my girlfriend, and I look at her, and say "He's Done!" ... She rolls her eyes. I step on it, and catch up to him, about 85. I switch to the right lane, which he proceeds to change into as my front fender is at his rear door, so I swerve on to the shoulder, drop it into 3rd, and mat it. I could hear him downshift too, and his exhaust gets really loud. I pass him out, and am losing him by almost 4-5 car lenghts by the time I take the exit (at over 120). He gets off the same exit, and pulls up to me at the light. I was laughing my ass off, and he says to me "what the **** do you have in that thing?" I tell him "2 liter .He just starts shaking his head, and says " No but what's in it, I say "stock!". Still shaking his head he was like "damn, that's crazy" I laughed my ass off.
Made me feel good, and thought that you guys would like to know that our relatively heavy & with 2 occupants (compared to a Lancer with just the driver) is definately a performer in the NA SCC scene (Civics, Lancers, Neons, etc.). And he had an exhaust and most likely an intake pipe by the sound of it, and mine is as stock as the day I pulled it off the lot (even the dirty airfilter that was in the car when I bought it, I know, I need to change it!!) I love this car!!!
