I like the one in the F&F eclipes. The only problem is that for most the cost of graphing it to the car and paint would suck. because you would have to paint the entire roof again.

there is a kit for the wrx that comes with a lever and a cap that locks down on weatherstripping, kinda like a miniature manual moonroof vent that opens forward instead of backward, then just lay a roof scoop over it

If done right (using a roof vent like this & putting a decent looking scoop over it), I think it would be cool, but the look of your car has to go with it. If you put it on a stock Protege, of course it will look stupid, but if your car has the motorsports/rally look, I bet it would be cool.

I drive with my AC off whenever possible (& I live in south FL lol) to improve gas mileage & get better performance. If it's hot out, I put the windows down (which cancels out any gas mileage benefit). Having a setup like this would allow you to drive on the highway with the vent open & AC off without getting overbearing wind noise or losing your gas mileage benefit.

*Just an idea that I'd consider if I had an ass load of $$.*

i didnt mean to sound like i had an attitude, i just thought it as funny because i started this threat months ago and had forgotten about it because i thought that it was a stupid idea, but to see it come back for more was funny to me. i agree with you it is totally up to the person who wants to do it. who are we be to stop them or hate on someone who want to! i was just expressing my distaste for the roof scoop's in my other posts, why let me opinion bother you so much.(mswerd)

Yeah for real. If i was gonna do it, I'd just use my sunroof I already have and put a scoop across the whole roof for some real airflow. Not that I would ever do it or even consider doing it, but the stock sunroof idea might work.

sorry atxpro5, im not trying to attack you or anything, just using your quote to give a different view. but why do people always say it has to be functional? lots of stuff you put on your car is serves no real function other than appearance, like daveb's gauge rings. those things are awesome but the dont enhance performance or really do anything except make your car look better.

Why are fart tips rice? They do nothing but "enhance" the sound, but they still suck. I mean why do people think black and red go together? There's no explanation for some things. Non functional roof scoop is just rice and pointless and sucks.
