P5 owners w/ 17 or 18 inch wheels

im still waiting for the snow to melt before i can put my 17's back on. its still over the hood of my explorer in my front yard (pissed)

Ordered my 18 inch Konig Unknowns today with Kumho Ecsta Ast 215/35/18 tires....mounted, balanced and shipped UPS ground for 1088.80 shipped to my door!!! I cant wait till they get here and put on, i know i need to get my eibach kit and drop it, but it might have to wait a couple months. I ordered my wheels from BUYWHEELSTODAY. anybody ever order from there???

My wheels/tires showed up at discount tire this past week, but i won't be able to pick them up for 2 more weeks :(

what are they worth?

Hehe...thanks bro. Funny thing is, I almost bought rims in a mesh style just like yours, but they were out of stock. The g-Games are going up for sale soon.
....(ballpark figure). Actually, I think I should probably go for 17 inchers, our roads are friggin FULL of potholes here. Do you know if those are available in 17's?

Those wheels look great! And the JDM tails work well for your color.

thank you! I think im going to smoke the center of the tails too, this car is so bittersweet! I love it but spend too much money on it!

guys..i see a lot of ppl ordering 17's with 42mm offsets. Just don't ...don't matter what tire size you are running..just don't, unless you plan on rolling fenders or shaving them.

We've all learnt that 42mm offsets are not good on the p5's. Sedans are ok. Let's stick to 45mm and up.

According to Rishie's fitment guide a +42 offset will work but with a 205 tire....or did I miss something?

mine have a 42 offset and im lowered with no problems at all. I have my fenders rolled, but theres defeinetely enough room with a 205 tire even if the fender wasn't rolled. 215 def wouldnt work though.

The treadwidth doesn't tell the whole story wrt rubbing. Check the section width, which varies from tire to tire even if they're the same size. Rubbing often occurs on the sidewall, which results from too great a section width.

One kind of 205/40 (for example) may work fine while another rubs...

Always depends on the tire though.. all 205s are definitely not the same. I rubbed with +47/8 wheels and a 215 tire, no fun.

Yeah. I had 17"s with a +42 offset and 205/40 series tires, and never had an issue with rubbing. I was dropped pretty low, as well, but never had a large load in the car. That could make a huge difference.

Thanks! It doesn't look like that anymore but I'm too lazy to wash the pollen off of my car and take more pictures. I got MP3 wheels a few months ago.

Ah...didn't think about that one. Seems a little crazy to me that after you find the right wheel with the proper bolt pattern, offset and width that you then have to contemplate not only a tire size but how one tire brand may rub and another wont! (shrug)
