p5 or mazdaspeed, that is the question

need some feedback...i love my p5 and i want more ponies...i'm not real sure about the aftermarket turbos...and i've been thinking...the last 2 hours now...about trading the p5 for a speed. what do you all think? i realize there are some hesitation issues with the speed, but i'm really not sure about the non factory turbos...your thoughts please? thanks joe

Mazda dealers have turbo kits u can buy and they are the same kits that come stock on the MSP. u should look into those!

I think you would probably get ***** with sandpaper condom on the trade. I would seriously look into one of the aftermarket turbos in about a month or so when they get those new fuel management systems worked out. Or just hold your horses until you are at lease even on the P5.

Just sit down and do all the price calculations. If you want to go aftermarket make sure you know all you want to get in addition to just the turbo kit.
Then try to see how much money extra you'd have to pay for the MSP with the trade in. Also take into account that the MSPs handling is much better than the P5s, so you're paying for that too.

the MSP is limited edition, so that's cool and unique, but a turbo P5 is as, if not more unique. It's really up to you. Take the MSP on a test drive if possible and see if the handling wins you over, because that's the only difference if you decided to add to your P5s speed.

thanks for the feedback guys. it's really not a money thing. don't get me wrong, i don't have money to throw away, but i really want more hp and my car's got 40k on it now...i do like the idea of having a unique vehicle like a turbo p5...i don't know, that new titanium speed looks real sweet! i'd probably take a real bath on the trade..maybe i could sell it outright for a bit more cash. thanks again! joe

It doesn't sound like your in a pinch to get a car right away. Take your time to decide and in the meanwhile take out a little classified and see what kind of offers you get. Couldn't hurt right?

Man I know what you mean by the looks of the Titanium Speed....I saw one at the dealer 2 weeks ago....it is by far the sweetest of all of them.

There are a few other things you need to think about too...you ALSO get a LSD with the Speed....

and Snowman....there are NO mazda dealers selling the complete turbo kit that goes on the mazdaspeed. its NOT available to the average consumer.....in fact even for a Speed owner to obtain certain parts of the system he must fork over the OLD part to get the new one....

IF you know of a mazda dealer that is actually selling a complete turbo kit for a Protege....its an aftermarket kit. NOT the MazdaSpeed turbo setup.

well since i work with a bunch of mazdas and i have drove m6's and i think that they are nice and all but not a hole lot of power to the big body, i think they are more of a luxory than racing.
