P5 Interior is crap....

I was just wondering if anyone had the same opinion as me when it comes to the Protege5's interior.

I think it was put together my 12 year old or something. I had the car for a year now and lots of interior parts are rattling. ei: Driver window when lowered half way (over bumps), dashboard... etc...

Anyone else have the same problems?

i think mine is holding up pretty well. i only rattle over large bumps. i do wish the bottom of the seat was a little longer, though. it feels as if it were designed for a short person.

I've learned to live with it or ignore it. I think most noises I always hear are from stuff I have put in the car, like CDs or junk in the glove box. I guess to get a good guaging now I'd have to take everything out and listen to it.

my little panel in the door w/ the 4 window swithes rattles like all hell when i have music on...its really starting to piss me off i think im gonna take it out and superglue it in there or soemthing

i agree totally on the seat thing. that's why it was so awesome when i swapped out the stock seats with some racing seats. . only cost 500 totally for the swap

The rattling kills me!!! i have rolls of weather stripping in varying thickness and widths so that i can fix the stuff, but its hard to figure out where the rattles are coming from exactly since it only happens while you're driving, and it's hard to work on the car while driving. i've also noticed that it gets worse when its cold.

i'd totally consider that if i didn't have the side airbags.

One side of my hatch is loose and I don't know where the clip went so that rattles like hell. The pockets on the doors rattle when the bass is up (Will be sticking weather stripping in there soon). And something behind the gauges rattles so I need to take that out and find it.

Considering the cost of this car, the interior quality is bar far the best of ANY vehicle I've ever owned... and I've owned a total of 11 (including a brand new 2002 4Runner... now THAT thing rattled like a mofo!!)

i've owned way to many cars and i'd say this is better than avg. i have few rattles and any i do have a contribute to the suspension and tires.

I hear something in my vents now at high speeds, drives me nuts, i turn down the radio and hear it, I cant put my hands on it. So we'll see, maybe a rabbit will blow out one day.

I agree, i think that even the stock tire/suspension setup creates a firmer ride, which makes for a lot of rattles. But I'd rather have rattles than body roll, although no rattles or body roll would be ideal

someone mentioned rattling from behind the dash. any idea what that could be? I get it too.

i get all kinds of noises from the TEINs. it's worse during the cold. EVERYTHING in the suspension squeeks in the back.

i also use to get a really bad rattling noice with my EBAY intake at high RPMs. I later found out it was rubbing against my master cylinder, and eventually wore a hole through the piping.

Mine rattles like crazy, but i also have motor mounts. I got rid of most of them, like the door pockets. There still is a few horrid rattles in the dash. I found a few and fixed them.
One horrible rattle was that the heater controls were not bolted down to the cover.

Can't say I know what you are talking about. Mine is pretty quiet.
