P5 handling without lowering

I scrape a bit as it is around here. I'd like tighter handling but do not think lowering is a good idea for me. I know I would not get the benefits of a lower CG but I think there's still a lot I could do.

I have a few questions. Suggestions on what order to upgrade parts or anything I missed are appreciated. Keep in mind a low budget so I will not do everything at once. I don't have the tools to lift a car and replace suspension parts so I'd probably have to pay for some if not all of the installs. This means things like doing the shocks and the springs at the same time would save money over all even though it would require more at one time.

I was thinking about the Mazda Motorsports rear sway bars. The SR Motorsports page said they added a rear sway bar with no other mods. Is it safe to add the sway bar on stock shocks and upgrade the shocks later? Do the stock P5 shocks even have a connection for the sway bar? The MP3 section of Racing Beat said they had to reinforce the mount for the sway bar. How thick is the MP3 sway bar? I was thinking about the Mazda Motorsports shocks some time.

How about MP3 springs on a P5? There are a few MP3s not using their stock springs right now or I could buy new ones. I think they are stiffer springs but a similar ride height to the stock P5 springs. I was thinking of the Racing Beat springs because they did the least lowering but the MP3 springs should be a similar spring rate with minimal lowering. I've noticed a few coilover kits but their cost is higher and I don't see much occasion for me to adjust the ride height.

There are the wheels and rubber but there are so many threads on these already on the board that I'm not going to ask here.
