Because modern fuel systems have pressure even when the engine is off. I found that out once when I tried to change the filter on my old Legacy. Gas started spraying on me and the hot engine bay. No fire, but I had to kink the hose to stop the flow and then spent 10 minutes screaming towards the house for somebody to lend me a hand.Joe PR5 said:ok thanks.. Bleed it off at the fuel rail, or wait a couple of hours. Also, taking the filler cap off usually helps.SciFiMan said:Because modern fuel systems have pressure even when the engine is off.
