P2097 and P2177 CELs came on the other day, and won't go away

Hey everyone. I have an 06 MS6 with an AEM intake as my only performance mod. It was installed back in November and I haven't had a problem until Monday.

I was driving around in light traffic when the CEL popped on. I scanned it with my ScanGauge and saw P2177 (System too lean at idle). I cleared it and continued on my way. It came back on again that evening, so on Tuesday I tore apart my intake and reset the ECU.

Well, it came back on tonight, and brought a friend. P2097 (Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Rich)

So....is it Rich? or Lean? WTF.

well, here is the follow up from this, incase anyone cares/has issues later on.

removed CAI, put in stock intake, cleared code

came back, car was running like crap, no responding properly at all.

took car in on monday, they replaced purge valve, no effect. they examined the O2 sensors and found the front one to be stuck.

From the paperwork:
"Checked o2 sensors and found front O2 sensor stuck at 6.93 mA. Tried to richen system, but no reaction from front O2 sensor. Found front O2 sensor to be shorted internally"

problem solved, running well now. of course the roads are covered in snow, so i cant open it up to make sure theres no hiccups. but, so far, so good

yeah if our front o2 sensor is crapped out, expect some rough running haha. that sucks it happened AFTER the intake install (removal and re-installation lol pita). glad you got it fixed though, i'll have to watch out if this happens to me!

wow im have the same problem... and when i took it to the dealer they updated my ecu and gave the car back and 5 mins later the cel popped up and the same thing happend runs like crap... i ges ill by a new 02 senser 2morrow thanks for the info

i'm starting to wonder if the AEM/MS CAI is messing with AFRs a bit....

ive had my AEM intake on since i bought the car and no problems to date.. my car has thrown one CEL since ive gotten it and it was when i got my new exhaust put on and has never come back.. how much are the O2 sensors for our car just for future reference.
