I had the same problem durig the winter months in VA. I triend everything and nothing worked my WB readings were normal under boost and normal driving when it got warm out it just went away. Hope you figure out whats wrong with cuz i know its a pain in the ass

I have a similar problem with the P0171. I've been watching the LTFT at idle, in Drive, and when the LTFT gets to the plus 25 the engine stumbles badly and idles lower vs the way it idled in Drive just prior to the LTFT getting to the plus 25.

If memory serves, the LTFT goes to zero when this happens. That's from memory. I've got to double check that out.

Ever try watching your 02 sensor to see if it's working right? The first 02 in the chain, not the one after the converter (if you have one).

No, I don't have the answer you want as to what *fail safe* mode the PCM enters when you get the P0171. I'm working on the neighbors car, not mine.

I'm going to try cleaning the wire in the MAF and then find someway to check the fuel pressure without spending much money. Cheap. Maybe going for a long ride while watching the LTFT etc and see if actual driving is OK and if the problem only exists at idle under the load of the transmission being in a gear.

so yesterday installed a perrin fuel rail, after everything was said and done i forgot to plug in the idle control, started the car it wouldn't idle threw the CEL and i plugged it back in. this morning on my way to work as soon as i parked my idle started bouncing up and down and then i got a CEL. This time it was the P0170. I am still runing the stock injectors and all i installed yesterday was the fuel rail and a wideband. The last time i got P0170 i was running a unichip tuned to 440s. i don't understand how it can read lean when i give it a higher capacity fuel delivery. Any ideas? im pretty certain i have no vac leaks either.
