This may be a dumb question, but why doesn't tony just include the SS bolts in the kit? It cant really be THAT much different in cost.

just curious...

It was probably overlooked since it doesn't affect performance, it is only surface rust.

The rust does look like pure ass though, doesn't it?

rust is never just surface rust. It keeps eating through stuff as long as there's something for it to react with. They'll hold for quite a while, but why not use SS? Not saying that just as a selling point. I don't think I have enough left for another kit.

so are you out of these? i just got the sway bar set and hope to adjust it in the future when i get my struts a few months down the road... i've experienced enough rust problems where i had to saw through one and dremel through 3 rusted stripped bolts

Last year when I got my bar they were already bundling stainless hardware with the bar. So I just threw out the ones I got from glyph earlier (boom07)

I am not sure how many I have left, honestly, though I will check. The move jumbled them all around my file cabinet, so I'll see what I can scrounge.

I have 6 within easy reach, which leaves you two short, though possibly more if I can root them out of the hidden places inside the file cabinet. Oh, and I found one of my old ones.

If you can find them, they are hex cap screws, 1/4-20 7/8". At least that is what is hand-written on the box. If you have a local fastener store, bring one of yours in and see what you can do. Otherwise, wait a day or two, and I'll let you know if I can get a couple more out. I am just about to redo the file cabinet anyways. It's one of those big giant metal jobbies with 5 drawers.

IIRC I got some SS bolts from Tony as well. I can dig around tomorrow and see if I have them and send them out for free (+ shipping).

The bolts did save my butt though. The endlink came loose and after the winter, everything was gross. Luckily the bolts were fine! I sprayed 'em with some pb blaster and went to town. Spending the $5 on an allen socket for these is worth it too.

sweet yeah i've had enough with rust.
if i can get 8 daym you're my hero for life haha anyways yeah but i'd really appreciate it

Who do you want them from? I have the 6, but haven't rooted around for two more, yet. Or do you want 'em from khaosman?

What now?
They're stuck!
I will continue to soak it down with PB Blaster.
The hex heads started to deform with my attempts to loosen.
I got 3 out of 4 on one "block" that won't budge.
Ideas?

Are these the original non-stainless ones? Best bet is to let them soak with blaster, or wd40, and you can check into bolt removal tools/bits from home depot or equivalent. Good luck with that. One reason I freaking hate non-SS hardware.
