am i the only one that thinks these overlays everyone is getting make the cars look ugly?

on the tailights, i think so. i may be in for some smoked fog light covers...but the taillights are hideous, they remind me of those GTO brand black plastic covers that people put on their mustangs and stuff...yuch. i wouldnt mind having some tinted fogs to match my headlights though...but the stuff that changes the actuall appearance and pattern of the lights - nasty.

i got the yellow m3 stonegard on my fogs.. i like it.. gives it that i wanna be a isthreeheezy when i grow up look -=P

Those are thick pieces of plastic that snap over the tails or headlights & they don't even really conform to the shape. Bat's overlays are vinyl, match the shape perfectly, & actually allow the red through.

im not talking about the material, nor the amount of light that gets through. they are equal in ugliness. they conform to the shape, but they just make it look ugly in my opinion.

The tails are the only place on the car where you find red & a lot of people just don't think it fits the look of the car. When you have tinted windows, black tires, or w/e, smoked tails just seem to blend in better.

i guess it is really in the eyes of the beholder. i think it looks even more out of place to have a completely smoked tailight.

Why not just take the tail lights out and spray them? Its the same ******* thing and cheaper.

Nightshades is maybe 1/2 the cost of the overlays, but once you spray it on there, you're stuck with it. I like having the freedom to take them off should I ever decide to.

i hate the overlays they look extremly bad to me. i did niteshade mine and since the cars black i think it looks excellent. but the half grayess look just looks bad. its a vw things doesnt flow on our cars. its all about flow

same reason people like the ever popular vinyl graphics...

The right solvent gets the sprayed on ones off, but it can be a bit risky... my car isn't that elaborate for the vinyl quite yet...
