So, during a recent 900 mile trip that i took in my msp I ran into some heating problems. I'm not sure if it was over heating because my temp gauge was a little below half way during the whole trip and my exhaust temp didn't ever get too hot... but about 2/3 of the way i had to change out my ignition coils (the little plastic things that sit on top of the valve cover) cuz they had melted. I've had my headers wrapped for a while because of this problem. I was wondering what would be a few things that i could do to fix this problem? I've had a good friend recommend a CF hood w/ ram inlets

he also recommended buying an ignition relocation set of "hot sparks"
i was planning on following his advice, but does anyone else have any ideas, suggestions, comments, or help at all?

What was your coolant reservior doing? was is boiling over? If it was search my other posts for a ton of info.

That seems wierd to me, do you have a EMS or something? I've had big trips with the car and luckily haven't had any issues. Did you drive it straight through or stop for a few hrs before the coils went bad? I drove the car amost 10hrs straight once.
