This is my first time posting so bare with me. I have an 02 protege 5. I have noticed my a/c compressor kicking in and out. So I took it to the shop so they could fill my a/c fluid. He said it was a little low so he filled it and it worked great for two days. Then all of a sudden the compressor starts kicking in and out again. On my way home from work i left the a/c on and it worked and then stopped. I didnt turn it off just kept driving in bumper to bumper traffic. Suddenly my motor started getting warm.
Well I got it home. Lifted the hood and noticed that only one of the fans on the radiator was blowing. So I looked on line and found that on some cars not both fans are for cooling the motor. Says that the one fan is for the a/c condensor.
I dont figure that its the water pump cause I'm not having any horrible noise of bearings gone bad or what not. The motor has had no problems ever untill just the other day with the condensor. So i dont understand why that would have an effect on my engine cooling system. The motor is bone stock. I only have a cat back exhaust. I have 83000 miles. If you have any ideas please help! Thank you!
