Our Racing Harts... Something to check.

I recently lost one of the torq screws out of my front left Racing Hart center cap. I got it replaced while my turbo got replaced last week. The tech said you should tighten those screws every 5k miles blah blah.

I went out today to check the other screws as well as the one he put back on. 3 out of 4 of my Racing Harts have stripped screws. There are only 2 screws per wheel rest are dummies. Look closely you will see the ones. The MSP should have come with 2 black torq wrenches for your racing harts.

Since I had 3 out of 4 I can't believe I am only one riding around with screws loose. They will fall out eventually as one of mine did. I live 180+ miles from dealership so it will be awhile before I see them on this. I was hoping some of you here would check yours and see what you find.

It looks like they put some kinda thread goop in mine. Lame stuff like that annoys me. I use to do machine work haha so I kinda take offense to crappy work in that area. (not sure why)

Any way I took my stripped ones out for now thankfully I have atleast one good screw in each wheel.

Let me know if you guys find any loose.

Man i wondered what those were for when i found them in my glove box Hmmmmmmmmm????? Now i know, thanks guys OH yeah I thought i was the only guy that had to drive like a hundred miles to the nearest Mazdaspeed Dealership!:bs:

Has anyone else check theirs? I just don't see how i could have had 3 out of 4 rims with stripped screw holes and be the only one.

the 2 black torx/allen wrenches i got DO NOT fit the racing harts, they DO NOT fit the sparco pedals...i dont know what the **** they are for!

Dex...I remember you checking that from the thread I started a month or soo ago. I went back out and checked them the other day and mine DO fit. Not all of the little screw bolts fit though, cause some of them have allen type heads while others have torx type heads. Might be worth it to take a look again.

Why did have to get your turbo replaced???

Well first off my turbo was leaking oil through some of the fittings. I think Logan had this issue as well.
It was also making a slight grinding sound when spooling up. Was hard to hear the grind unless the engine was cold or you were on smooth road and not much wind.

The tech also said that it looked as if the turbo was getting far to hot cause the metal was turning to dark of a color to fast.

I don't know much about turbos all I know is now that the new one is on there is a big difference in power. The spool is much louder and the boost seems to go into higher RPMs and is more noticable. The tech also found an Exhaust leak around the exhaust manifold. Lucky find I guess.. just saved me a trip back later.
