Well it was only a matter of time before this happened. I was leaving the parking garage tonight after working like 20 hours when I noticed a ticket on my car. The garage attendent didn't know I was an employee and ticketed my car (like it isn't ******' there every night)! So I had to stop at the booth instead of using the gate. The lane is much more narrow and as I pulled away...CRUNCH! I got out and looked and low and behold my rim is scraped to holy hell! I WAS SO PISSED! It's the right front. I have been so careful as not to do this.

I know some of you others have done the same thing. I think I remember (back in the day) hearing people say this happened to them. Now I feel your pain. Anyhow thanks for letting me vent (the wife was already in bed). I will try and post pics when it's light out.

Anyone know how much a new rim is?

that sucks. dont sweat it because no matter how hard you try to keep your car looking nice, something will eventually happen. ive never scraped a rim before, but i have nicks and scrapes on mine because of loose gravel and other debris hitting them. it sucks, but its life.......

you could email ken@mazda3online and he should be able to help you out with a new wheel.

i know exeactly how u feel...its almost not worth having nice things cause of what will happen to it no matter how hard u try to keep it nice

yeah, I screwed up my front right rim pretty bad too in a parking lot of all places (shrug) I feel your pain, my friend.

luckly i havent ever done that...but when i got hit my car got thrown into a corb that was like 1.5in high...scraped my rim like 2in. long...i was pised sesne the Shop didnt notice it.

I just saw a full set of wheels on eBay for $250.

Thanx...

...everybody. I was so bummed. I decieded to wait until after the winter and get a new rim then. With the snow on the way my estute wife pointed out that this could very well happen again. If it does it better be the same damn rim.

Thanks again for all the sympathy.

Tim

yeah, I fear winter. I never cared too much about my wheels when I had my SUV, but now I'm paranoid! All the gravel & salt they put down can be rough!

that sucks, thats why when I bought my 3 I got the extra insurance, coming from driving a lifted jeep, I tend to not see curbs to well....if I mess up a rim, no matter what they replace it for free....I think the same goes for the tires too....I feel your pain though man, that sucks

Yeah, so you know what I mean. I'm thinking now about next year: maybe I'll get some new rims & tires for the warm months & then keep the stock ones to beat up in the winter. Anybody have any rims they'd suggest replacing the stock ones with?

Talk about ouch! Just a few days ago I drove my bud down to to p/u his VW R32: he'd just gotten a new fiberglass hood put on it (sweet!). On his way home that night, he gets in an accident & gets rear-ended by a pizza-delivery car! Talk about ironic. (headshake
