other mazdaspeed vehicles?

The base HP of a Miata is 142. I would hope a turbo would add more than 40hp. Especally when ppl are pushing 350+rwhp with Miatas...

i think its going to be a s/c miata.

Mazdaspeed really needs to get on the ball and start offering upgrades for cars along w/ they're line of cars. We're falling behind. Most of you hate the srt-4's but mopar has backed them all the time, they even have a stage 2 upgrade now that pushes them to around 300hp.

Wouldn't it be *very* easy for them to put out a mazdaspeed P5, since the P5 is the same damn thing as a regular protege, but with a different back end? Just run the damn P5 through the MS engine assembly line.

There is no "MS Enigne assembly line".

I didn't mean it quite that literally. I hope you understand what I was trying to say. How hard could it be to put in the main components of the MS into the P5? Switch the engine and maybe beef up the suspension.

I talked to a guy at Rev-It-Up who worked for Mazda USA inc. and he told me that "The Miata will most likley be the next mazdaspeed." I Don't think that there will be a MSP5 since the 3 comes out in 2005. That leaves only a year of production left, and nothing has been announced so far.

The engines themselves are identical (aside from the turbo), VERY few diffrences. All you would need to add is the ECU, and turbo related piping and whatnot.

That's what I mean - sorry if I wasn't clear. Take the P5 and run it through whatever it takes to put the turbo on there - it can't be much different than the process the MS goes through.

Off topic a little... My dealer told me that they are going to stop making the sports model of the Mazda 6 after this year... has anyone heard the same?

Could this be because they are planning on making a mazdaspeed 6?

Mazdaspeed 6 would be very nice!! Drool drip drool drool...

Mazdaspeed Protege5 would take the fun out of doing outrageous mods to your car so perhaps Mazda USA will leave it alone and they've already announced the Forvolzda3 (as in Ford Volvo Mazda).
