Hi guys,
I'm about to buy a MP5. The only thing I saw weird on the car is the antenna. It's long. Can you post picstures of your original antenna???
Thanx in advance...
(it'a a canadian MP5, antennas are probably the same in USA)

Antenna

I bought one of these. I didn't like the antenna being long.

The length of the antenna doesn't bother me, and I seldom listen to the radio, but whatever I have up there, it would have to fold down like the OEM one does, or it would get in the way of lots of stuff I carry on the roof rack - Kudos to Mazda for the folding antenna idea ;)

I guess you could just cut down the OEM antenna, if you're not worried about great radio reception . . . .

huh?

are you talking about a protege 5??

the stock antennae doesn't fold down and if you want to remove it you don't have to cut it..you just unscrew it.

You can unscrew it if you like I guess, but you can carry sheets of plywood or anything else you like without bothering to take it off. The base of the antenna is flexible, and it just lays down horizontally when you lay something on top of it - I'm pretty sure Mazda made it that way so you could still listen to your radio on the way home from Home Depot ;)

the antenna does fold, but the lady that had my car before me had a bike rack on her car for a while, and the antenna is now permantly bent. so i went and got an IS300 antenna, it's about an inch shorter.
