Ok I just talked with SFX's programmer. Unichip will test a base car and get a MAP established. Then they will go find modded cars and pay them (or get employees cars) to dyno and tune. For every tune they create a new map and setup a database for that car. For the MSP, they got a stock MSP, then they slapped a CAI on it and tuned again. Then they got someone with an exhaust AND intake and tuned that. So the end-programmer has a few dropdowns and my programmer told me he selected all of them. Exhaust, CAI, and could factor in the cooler air temps from an intercooler.... but the exhaust and CAI make the biggest change, I think the intercooler is a more general offset but doesnt change things much. For more popular cars, Unichip will have tuned all sorts of types with all sorts of mods. There are about 4-5 options as of now for the MSP. I think if I were to get mine custom tuned @ unichip... there might be a FMIC map created and sent to Unichips main database.... but don't quote me on that. I think that if they get good results and test a couple of cars it gets added.
