Ordered Unichip + Review for SFX Performance

Ok I just talked with SFX's programmer. Unichip will test a base car and get a MAP established. Then they will go find modded cars and pay them (or get employees cars) to dyno and tune. For every tune they create a new map and setup a database for that car. For the MSP, they got a stock MSP, then they slapped a CAI on it and tuned again. Then they got someone with an exhaust AND intake and tuned that. So the end-programmer has a few dropdowns and my programmer told me he selected all of them. Exhaust, CAI, and could factor in the cooler air temps from an intercooler.... but the exhaust and CAI make the biggest change, I think the intercooler is a more general offset but doesnt change things much. For more popular cars, Unichip will have tuned all sorts of types with all sorts of mods. There are about 4-5 options as of now for the MSP. I think if I were to get mine custom tuned @ unichip... there might be a FMIC map created and sent to Unichips main database.... but don't quote me on that. I think that if they get good results and test a couple of cars it gets added.

that makes sense, if they really did that. i wonder how easy it is to pull your maps from a custom tune and give it over to unichip?

I laugh when I see these prices of Unichip for like 800- $900.
A place down here sells it for that same price too. Like $670.
Which place is this? (uhm)

I love it...I got into a war with a certain Vendor to remain nameless, on this forum who repeatedly and continues to promote himself as the ONLY place that the MSP unichip can be purchased. And then charging $750 as a 'sale' price.

Vendors should be just as accountable for scamming as anyone else in these forums. I'm happy that you got your unichip at a better price. I can't wait till I get mine.

I should hope you aren't referring to me, because if you are then you are incorrect on every point. In the event that you are;

I have never promoted myself as the only vendor on the forum that sells Unichip. The only vendor to sell Unichip for quite some time was actually CorkSport, and they charged well over $800 at the time my GB started several months ago. If this vendor has secured a better price on Unichips than I or my supplier since the three months passed on my own GB, then that is something I applaud them for and thats also the nature of this business.

You also never discussed Unichip with me, ever. You "got into a war" with me when I jokingly criticized your spelling in another thread regarding your personal feelings towards another forum member, to which you took as "guilt by association" with that member.

You misquoted yourself in your own private message. You make libelous and false statements backed by no semblance of fact, with no comprehension of how this industry works and only assumptions drawn from your own mistaken theory.

i think he's asking about where he can get it $670 ....

further note; unichip like many other aftermarket companies have certain price limits they allow thier vendors to sell at. i'd like to know how, if legitimately so, this limit is being bypassed.

none the less, it is a great deal.

Alright, here we go again, Tito. Btw, would you get a ******* real name. What is this Tito s***?

Casopolis, let us know when you recieve the unichip and how long it takes. I think I might just order it from there if mine doen't come on a week or so.

yes please let us know, because it will give me more ammunition on my end when I have something to show my supplier and ask UC WTF is up with my orders when others are being fulfilled.

So Sue me.

Anyone here can go look at your group buy and see what a mess you created over there. I am not the one who told you to have a group buy when you don't even know a reliable lead time for that item.

This thread has nothing to do with the Illinois crews repeated creation of 'racist' thread. whether your joking or not, something is coming to the surface.

And my 'war' was not even about the unichip, but about the mods decision to delete posts that counter the Vendor. Since you jumped in I will have to name that Vendor now...cause it want' even you. Horspower freak, but I think he's changed his tune now.

And no, I will not be giving you a call to discuss this. I really do not care.

Temptation is so wicked

As has been factually stated. I was given a lead time by unichip at the start of the group buy. I apologize to all my customers for trusting thier good word. I'll let Unichip know you consider them to be liars when I speak to them next. Once again, you have a problem keeping your story straight.

something is coming to the surface.

so funny and outlandish that i won't even comment. spotted a few more threads that i had brought up you asked me about yesterday but you did nothing about them. disappointed you didn't and pleased you justified my opinion of you further.

If you didn't care, you wouldn't continue. Thanks for sending me the PM to me four times over, for whatever reason that was. If you'd rather not have a gentlemanly discussion person to person on this, I can at least say I was the better man and extended the olive branch to you. Its your choice to hide behind a computer screen.

If you have a problem with the moderators and how they handle another member or vendor's posts, you take that directly to the moderators and the admins and address it - thats A#1 reason we have the admins and have the PM system. You do not publicly vendor bash in a thread, especially when you do not have the whole story and especially when you make vague generalizations that wrongly discredit another members character. If you can't handle that perhaps you should refrain from posting period.

AutoX MSP, your unichip will ship tomorrow or monday.

Ok, wow chill out. Yes, this is a good price but guess what it wont last for long. They are violating Unichips MAP(minimum advertised price) price requirement. They will get cut off by their supplier one way or another. Manufacturers use third party companies to enforce their pricing policies like www.netenforcers.com. Also, really do you trust getting tech support from a company that doesn't even have experience with a Protege for something such as engine tuning? Whoring out products is a common occurance by small new companies starting up to attract customers. While a good business strategy it hurts the product market value. Manufacturers are all adopting MAP policies. If a vendor violates that policy, they can be sued if they continue to use their images or products on their site for infringing intellectual property rights and be cut off once they find out who their supplier is. There is no need to start s*** over nothing. If you want to voice your previous experiences, use the vendor review section. Also, if you the AV's here pay money to sell. Of course the mods are going to protect their interest. So if you're gonna make a rebuttal to something make sure its not attacking the vendor. Learn to phrase what you want to say correctly. This is not being targeted to anyone specifically. Just my $.02.

get 'em Sam!!! Have you received the UC software yet? I'm interested in what kind of timing the base tune is adding/subtracting.
