options for new tranny

well... my 3rd gear took a dump on me, 10psi with redline yellow fluid. i downed it on the freeway (wet roads) and spun the tires next to some dude trying to call me out.... i got ahead still in thrid.. when he caught up i dumped the clutch and 3rd gear went to s***... i guess you can say he won in the end...

need some advice on getting either new gears or a new 3rd gear. anyone know of some good "bullet proof" stuff?

yeah some more info on this gtx thing, are you talking about swapping all the gears? and from what year is this we need

that's what I wanna know.
All i can think of is it's from the GTX proteges, which were somewhat of a performance model back in the day (not really an old-school guru). Perhaps the gears swap out?

sorry man, it wasn't actually a question. the gtx has a g series box just like i do. the gears are almost exactly the same (3rd is identical). if you want stronger gears, get your wallet out.

hint: get a transmission cooler first.

gtx awd gears are stronger...its already proven. Small changes in ratio, big change in 4th gear.

well there should be plenty of AWD gtx boxes lying around since nobody uses the tranny after the swap. I have seen the entire tranny go for around $150 many times on escort boards and other mazda boards so sourcing them should be no problem.
