You also got to think, a dealership is always going to give you less then a car is worth. Because a dealer can't really price their car too high over the market value of it. So in order for them to make a profit (which is business 101), they gotta get the cars for under market value, spend the $100 to clean them up, and sell them for $1,000 over market value and then negotiate from there.
Sure it's more work, But selling privately in this economy is what you HAVE to do! Any person with common sense in today's world will tell you not to pay someone $2,000 to sell a car for you; But to invest your TIME, not your MONEY, and sell it yourself. Gotta save those pennies any way you can.
