Opinion on "Turboing" an Auto (non-sport)

p5 engines have been known to blow, too.

Why'd you have to sell all those mods? Sounds to me like you played with fire and got burned...

All I'm saying is that a turbo fs-de has a much better chance of blowing than a n/a auto fs-de. LMK when your engine blows and we'll get a meet together to race you with our slow but stylin' hatchbacks.

I fully agree man, and yeah i'll give you guys a call when my engine blows, lol. It'll be like 300 bucks for a used block off a scrapped p5, plus some labor haha.

haha, no hate from earlier seriously, im just saying everyone knows MSPs have enough trouble handling stuff as is, and it is sold with a turbo stock, why take good money and put it into something that is not made to have a turbo and garanteed to have problems, it might run good for a while, but its going to be alot of non stop work. along with non stop money and supporting mods. it would make a good project car if you had another one to drive. but in my opinion, think logically take the money... save it, and invest in something non hatch... sorry not a hatch fan

Turboing a P5 is not a good idea when it is the same thing as the msp?? Yea the auto might be holding it back, but have you seen C-Will or Jomo? Their P5's are faster than most of the msp's on this forum. The best thing is just buy the Hi-boost kit and install it over the weekend and you are done. I have friends with auto turbo that are running fine. One is at 9psi with the hi-boost kit and is running fine for almost 2 years now.

Turboing a P5 is not a good idea when it is the same thing as the msp?? Yea the auto might be holding it back, but have you seen C-Will or Jomo? Their P5's are faster than most of the msp's on this forum. The best thing is just buy the Hi-boost kit and install it over the weekend and you are done. I have friends with auto turbo that are running fine. One is at 9psi with the hi-boost kit and is running fine for almost 2 years now.

great idea without the auto tranny though Brian, I know you bailed on your turbo plans with your auto P5 to go with an MSP or MS3, much better idea on your part i must say bro...

good summary, i dont like hatches either looks wise although theyre lighter so yeah they have more potential, i know a lot of civic crx's that are rediculously fast, turbo p5's like Cwill's are rediculously fast, but they dont have the auto tranny lol

hey man like i said before enjoy your rides, and yeah when your ready go ahead an pm me with a auto non-sport turbo P5 and we can make a some good runs out here in Cali, sounds like a good time, you guys are really butt hurt about this whole thread, I think you guys should just be over it though and roll with it, I took all kinds of bashing from subaru's until I beat one with my modded msp. But I realized that no matter what even my MSP is slow as **** which is why i'm back to almost stock, I'm upgrading my car to something with more potential in the near future, I bailed on my mods while I was still ahead and I could make my money back and have my car still in one peice with no mods. I actually made money reselling my mods on the forum, which is nearly unheard of. My opinion still stands that turboing an auto P5 is a bad idea because of the limitations of the auto tranny.
