maybe...

ive been having to force my msp into gear when the weather gets hot. got clutch replaced yesterday and it seemed to be almost fixed, but when i went to drive it today, i couldnt get it into gear at all. turns out, over the years, the pedal free play had increased. the car would start to move as soon as the pedal came off the floor because the rod wasn't being pushed far enough into the master cylinder. reduced free play to 3/8" by backing the pedal out against the rod and now the car is fine.

I'm having a similar problem after replacing the master and slave cylinders for my clutch. I'll have to give this a try.

i'll third the issue, hard to shift after driving around for a while in hot weather, i'll try it sometime as well.

Well, I adjusted my free-play and it didn't fix the issue. The issue is either the clutch or something internal to the transaxle...

My car would occasionally grind a little while shifting mostly due to not fully engaging the clutch, I adjusted the clutch pedal and it is much better.

Does anyone have a diagram or pics on where on the clutch pedal I can adjust it and how to do it properly? Thanks

Seriously, it is totally simple to see it with a flashlight.

Just get under there and have a look.

The shaft is threaded and locked in with a 10mm nut

Release the nut, adjust some of the free play and lock it down

Don't forget to test drive

There is a diagram but it's really complicated, I just adjusted it by feel and by watching the piston on the top of the clutch pedal. Just make sure you leave some freeplay and adjust both the adjustment screws. They are 12mm nuts IIRC.
