I got a 2010 GT with NAV. Yesterday, I try to insert more than 1 CD to the unit. I couldn't !!! Am I missing something here. I did not evern ask the salesperson about cd changers. I expected the car to come with 6 CD changer. Please confirm the OEM NAV only come with CD player, not CD changer.

if ur car does have a 6 disk cd changer, u have to select that seperate drive and then insert that CD

If you have the Nav option you don't have the 6 cd changer but just a single cd player. Nav deletes the 6 cd changer.

It is not a concern for me. One less expensive thing to break right after the warranty runs out and these days most music is played on mp3s or ipods anyway.

I think the mentality from Mazda to change it for 2010 is that most people are using or turning to MP3 players rather then using CDs. Just my $0.02

What's a CD?

Reminds me of my older daughter's question when seeing a LP at age 6 in the late 1980's: what's that thing called that looks like a CD but bigger and black.

CD's are unlikely to survive another five-ten years and will soon be joining 8 tracks, cassettes and other defunct formats.

Add a SD card slot to my list of wants in the CX9.

I am an old fashion guy. I still think CD has a better sound quality than MP3. Oh well I have no choice, I guess I have to burn CD for long family trip.

I actually like having the 6 disc changer. I don't have that big of an mp3 library yet and I agree the sound quality is better with the CD's. Plus there's all the crap you have to buy to get it to play from your ipod or other device.

CD is higher audio quality than MP3 but most people cannot detect it especially in a moving automobile.

CDs are better then MP3, but the AAC format IPods use is also better than MP3. We ripped all of our CDs into iTunes and sold them at the local media store. Now all 84 CDs are on two DVDs and inside iTunes ready to play anytime.
We can even play them at CD quality in the car right from the laptop, as well as the iPod.

I have about 700 CD's. I sat at my computer for a few weekends and ripped my favorite songs from each to MP3 (involved lots of beer drinking too), and burned to disks. I have 6 loaded in the 9--that's a crap load of songs available!

What sucked is I had ripped hundreds of songs to WMA before this. The 9 does not play WMA, so I had to re-rip many to MP3.

I am sure 07/08 doesn't support WMA, but MP3. I am not sure if 09 supports WMA yet, but I am sure 2010 supports both MP3/WMA.
As chuckml97, I only know 2010 NAV only 1CD after I picked up. However, I now have all songs in my iPhone to play throught BT Audio.
