one more thing, sorry guys

no worries, just like things like oil pressure, there are both electrical and mechanical types. both have their pluses and minuses.

anyway, I think a vid might be helpful, at least help us get you moving in a direction.

another question, you have a CEL? have you gotten the code read?

yeah, definitely a strange sound, but it sounds like its running OK... can you swap the stock BPV in and see if it might just be the valve thats got issues?

yeah she only stalls when she feels like it. she shutters and dies. sometimes she backfires and dies.. mostly she wont. but she did when the noise first started happening and once last night. im not worried about that because its just a symptom.

what makes you think the WG is bad? sounds like its building boost, so its not stuck open. even if its stuck closed that shouldn't have anything to do with that sound. all sounds like the BOV to me.

my origional question is in engine performance. this was just the can i drive because i have things to do post.

the obvious answer is, if you can avoid driving it, don't. if you do, I'd just do whatever you can to keep the turbo from spooling. my (and this is a bit of a snap judgement) diagnosis is that your BOV is causing a boost leak back to the intake tubing... which is why you're dying intermittently. a boost gauge would help a lot in diagnosing: underboosting due to leak, any possible WG problems...

seems like you COULD drive it, but if you can avoid it, I wouldn't until you figure out whats going on.

thanks babe. ill take the classic. yall are so freaking helpful id be under my hood like just staring, all duhhhhhh. pulling my hair out and crying, bye yall

What type of BOV/BPV do you have? Maybe it just needs to be adjusted. It sounds like it's recirculating fine just maybe too much? Maybe the valve needs to be adjusted some. I've got the imfamous "turkey" like that but it doesn't seem to flutter nearly as long.

yeah hsk flutter. it was a present from the ex for the xmas after i got Lilly. you can adjust them? like floats on a carb?

Well if it's an older model it might have an adjustment screw on it to tighten the spring inside. I'm not too familiar with that valve so maybe someone with it can chime in. I wouldn't say it's like adjusting a float, maybe like a choke/idle adjustment.

look on the back (opposite side of outlet) and see if theres a bolt with a jamnut sticking out. if so... grab a 10mm wrench and start tryin to play with it. Count how many threads are exposed for each adjustment you make and mark down the results. if you see a trend to better, keep going, if it starts getting worse, go back.

thats just hardcore compressor surge. I highly doubt its a wastegate problem but its impossible to diagnose without a boostgauge.
