what do u guys think of these cars? I always liked them and was thinking of getting an older one as a project car....i dont know that much about those dsms so any info is appreciated...

watz up well one of my best friends has a vr4 and man ill tell u now its sweet, he has done a few things to it and its pushing 360hp it comes with 300 stock man its def a good buy!!!

I think you should save some money and buy a 1st gen DSM. For a little bit of money you can have one bad ass car.

The VR-4's are bad ass cars. 300 hp stock, but they also have AWD and handel as well as my MP5, if not a little better. www.3si.org will give you all the info you need. Parts, cars, tips, you name it, they got it. I recomend the 94 - 99's, just because they are my favorites. The first gen's are kinda boxy, but if you want a first gen, I'd go with a Stealth RT/TT. That's a fine looking car, and I hardly see any Stealths around my aera besides mine.

Good luck if you decide to go for the 3k.

My friend has a Stealth R/T and my aunt had a hideous purple 3000GT VR-4 Spider. Handling and 3000GT don't collide in the same sentence. The key word is collide. Hideous turbo lag. Honestly, the N/A 3000GT's are great cars..

I never drove a 3k Turbo, so I guess I really can't talk, I just based it on my Stealh. I have a Stealth ES, and it's a great car, and it will last FOREVER! 165k and counting. But yeah, a turbo control unit... thingy... will do wonders. Rasing the boost will do wonders.

Drove it, couldn't stand it. This is not a small car on the outside but you would never guess from the inside. Has some interesting features like the 4 wheel turning system in the later models. Just avoid the N/A, slow and front wheel drive.

My ex-divisional officer had a sweet 95' VR4. He had it boosted close to 370hp. . But he also had problems w/ the drive train being too weak (as he put it). Other than that, it was an awsome ride!!

I did a lot of research for my father in law regarding these. The VR4 is big, spendy (still) and with the awd, very very expensive to fix if there is any problems. Everythign is pretty expensive to replace tires, brakes, etc. are all rather large and getting more difficult to get.
On the plus side, most of the none awd cars were pretty durable, if well taken care of, which can be a tough find. Lots of power, even the base 3000 had a 200hp-220hp engine, (stay away from the stealth with the 170hp engine).
Good looks, fun to drive, just make sure to do a carfax and find a maintenance Hx with the driver or local mitsu dealer.

i almost bought a 93 3000gt but everybody convinced me not to. remember that mitsubishi quality isnt all that great
