Great forum - got a lot of info here in a very short period of time to make the decision to buy this EXCELLENT car. Thanks all...

I'm coming in from a VW history (and VWVortex.com...). Had a chipped/modded B5 Passat wagon 1.8T and several modded VW A2's over the (many) years... and now the MSP!

Screenname = "ping" because that's the sound that significantly discounted my black MSP- hail damage! I figure the somewhat "pebbled" appearance on the hood and roof will act like the dimples on a golf ball and allow me significantly lower wind resistance... and may in fact COMPLETELY JUSTIFY TO MY WIFE the eventual purchase of a carbon fiber hood - are they available for the MSP? Hmmm....(thought)

Lookin' forward to learning more, like about sputtering BOV's and reset buttons on the absurdly complex (but oh so great sounding) radio.

Just figured I'd say hi... now get back to work!(mspb)

Hey ping, I love VW's & I also like to read up on them at
the Vortex. I had a 2001 GTI VR6 & till it was totaled I loved
that car & at times when I see other people with it, I miss the
car..... Anyway, welcome to the fourm. So what made you go
with the MSP & not another VW...?
For me it was the fact that they still look the same & I see to many of them on the road, mom's, dad's, grandma's, granddad's
they all have them......
You'll learn a lot here & good luck with your car, Black was a great color to get ( not that I don't like the orange.....)

hey man of course there are cf hoods out there!! take ur pic bro... apc, dgmotorsports, fiber images. my gf has a 2002 1.8t that she has been fixing up for the past 6 months and it is an AMAZING car- i nearly bout a 1.8t gti myself. good luck in the forum bro.
