Our new place is similar to the old one except the house is about 20 Feet longer, so the basement is 20 Feet Longer Too!

More room the the Porsche engine and stuff in general.

We picked up a LCD Projector and a screen to be used as a T.V.

It's HDTV ready with 1024x768 Res at 2000 Lumens. I'm hoping for a image size of approx 90 - 100" which should rock for movies and PS2!

Here is the T.V...

Yep, I have an Infocus 4805. Not bad for my apartment. Eventually I'll get a house and head over to avsforums before I drop 7k on a decent projector.

For $1000 though, you can get something that is adequate for gaming and dvd playback.

you mean to tell me you spent money on w new projector, when you could have gone to the land fill/ dump and picked up a 14 inch tube!? Imagine what you could have purchased for your porshe! Shame on you, SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!

Nice tv tho, i had an old projector, until my best friend decided that dropping it would make it work better.

i would try to get the infocus 5700 over the 4805. the 4805 is a great projector but it will only do 720P with a digital connection and you have to have a dvd player capable of outputting that resolution. The 5700 will do 720P no problem over component. Just gives you more connections options. The 5700 is also a little brighter so the screen doesn't wash out so bad when you turn the lights on a little. You can pick up a 5700 for a pretty reasonable price on ebay. I would much rather have a runco cl-710 but hey, whatever, maybe someday. i would also try to pick up a 16:9 screen vs. that 4:3. or at the very least shrink your picture size down to fit a different aspect ratio.

looks good, I have always wanted a projector that I can hook up my TV and computer to, but they are a little to expensive for me right now.

The 4805 is best suited for 480p, anything else requires conversion or "pull-down" which while it looks fine visually is actually degrading the image pretty bad. I'm using it with one of my modded x-box's (thanks warrier04!) and a divx/xvid enabled dvd player (Phillips DVP642).

I have an HDTV cable box hooked up to the projector - and it looks good, but I've also seen what true 1080p looks like at a tech demo - can't wait until I can afford to set it up at home.

how often do you have to replace the bulb on a front projector like that, and how much do they run? (the bulbs?).. I drool over the DLP projectors like that...
