So I was changing my oil this morning and I noticed a have a small oil leak. There isn't a whole lot of accumulation just looks damp. It appears to be coming from the timing chain cover but I can't tell for sure. It looks damp from the middle of the timing chain cover down to the side of the oil pan. I checked my oil level before doing the oil change and it probably leaked about a quarter of a quart or maybe even less than that. Do you guys know of any common oil leakage problems around the timing chain cover area. I changed my oil 3,000 miles ago and didn't notice it then so it started recently. I have 12,000 miles on it and will be taking it in under warranty.

Also I have a CP-E CAI and CP-E TIP, do you guys think they will give me any problems with warranty. I will be taking it to Rosen Mazda in Lake Villa, IL..

I had that probably last year, got my fixed and they replaced the gasket there. I lost about a quart then noticed it when changing my oil.

As much of a pain as it will be, I'd swap back to the stock parts. Even if they don't hassle you about them this time, the will likely document that your car has them and could use that to create hassles for you in the future.

I got an oil leak around that area, also in the oil pan, and the sealant around the transmission. Damn the whole car is breaking down.

The dealer turned me down the first time because of what they said "OWNER TUNED VEHICLE", but after some time and calls to Mazda I am going and hopefully will get this crap taken care of.

Just an update, I took my car in last week and they said it was leaking from the front main seal (crank shaft main seal) and the timing chain cover. They also replaced the oil pan gasket for good measure. They did not give me a hard time about my mods, and to be honest they didn't even mention anything about them. So all is well again.

alexspeed3: What mods do you have? And are you leasing it or did you buy your speed? Just curious.
