Stupid question here. What kind of wrench do I need to remove the filter. I was just under the car and there is what looks like a socket for an allen wrench? Will that work or do I need to buy one of those special ones from autozone? If so what size? I was just there and they knew nothing.

150 miles past due for an oil change. Doing it myself but need a little help :)

Theres a drain plug on the bottom of the oil filter housing and thats what the allen wrench would remove. To remove the filter housing you'd need a 75.6mm 14 flute oil filter socket thingy. I couldn't find one that fit at Autozone, but I ordered mine from the local mazda dealer. $25 or something like that.

Coudln't find anyone with the right size wrench and i dislike the universal ones so I went to one of those Valvoline place and got it done in 15 minutes. I spent more time then that just trying to find the wrench. Just gonna order one online for the next time.

The part that really sucked was i brought the wrong can jug of oil, so I wound up just gettin their full synth. Although they say it tests better then the PP and M1. I dunno about that but for one change it wont hurt.
