oil consumption

Hi all, just joined and this is my first post. My wife's CX-9 has 18k on it. Since day one it has shown 1/2 to 1 qt low. Two dealers have told me this is norm for this model and other mazda models. Is this the case? Also, dummy me lost one of the keys already. Dealer quote, $432.00. so I got one from Keyless Remotes for $70, but can't find a locksmith to program it. Dealer charge for that ranged from $60 to $104..What a rip off!

Thanks. Sad you can't trust the dealer to get it right. I've had an independant do it also. The stick read full. 3k later, down 2/3 of a qt. At 5k, down 1qt...

My oil level barely changes (not scietifically) between oil changes (5K for me).
