Lots of good info in here, but also kind of confusing.

I am really good at following directions so a write up with pictures would be awesome!PaulMP3 said:Hooking it up to the valve cover, i never got any oil. It doesnt seem anybody has really got any oil out of that vent. Some guys have a breather filter right on the vent, and there would be oil comming out if it passing oil.
If you want both to have a catch can, you need to use 2 cans, unless you find a way around it, and i dont want my valve cover vent to see boost. The PCV valve needs to be routed back into the intake manifold so it has pressure to open and close the valve. When i had it hooked up to my intake, it filled with oil fast, and made my car run wierd.
I may do some type of write up someday, the pics are posted. It is really quite simple, if you have any ?'s post them here and i'll tell you what to do.
i removed the filter.msp_213 said:i just got one of those filters from lowes and i have some questions. first did you take out the filter from the center of the tank? and also what about the warning on the side of the tank that says to avoid "synthetic oils"?
what i was saying, was when i had the PCV and the valve cover vent piped into the intake(seeing no boost) it filled up instantly. With the catch can in line of the pcv valve and the intake mani, it fills about 1/4 every few days. Im gonna get around to getting a new pcv and see if it still passes oil.flat_black said:Just out of curiosity, I hooked one of these up to my car, connecting the oil catch can to the PCV valve atop the valve cover, and the other source to the intake manifold... Mine's collected oil to about one eighth full durring the drive into work this morning... The car seems to be functioning as per the norm, but I do wonder why so much oil blows through the valve... So, you were saying the car wasn't running properly when you did this, Paul?
I'm still lost....I don't see the difference in location in this statement. It sounds like the exact same thing.PaulMP3 said:what i was saying, was when i had the PCV and the valve cover vent piped into the intake(seeing no boost) it filled up instantly. sorry about the confusion, if you look at the PCV valve and see where it dumps into, it makes more sense.ddogg777 said:I'm still lost....I don't see the difference in location in this statement. It sounds like the exact same thing.
EDIT: Wait, I see it now, when you said "seeing no boost" I thought you meant you weren't mashing the throttle. What you really meant was "pre-compressor" intake. Got it..(stooges)
