I got it at Lowes.. It cost $19.44, the 2 barb fittings where another $3 or so.Little Beavis said:Where did you get it? How much? Part number?
Of course you can wait until you have "success" to share.
ditto, my friends srt4 has to be emptied every 2-3 days. crazy.SP33D said:yeh that was my friend who had it on his srt-4.. pretty nifty idea. I'm thinking about letting him do it for me too. u should see how much crap oil is caught in there on the srt-4 in just 3 days..![]()
Well, if it doesn't go into the catch can, it will go back into the intake pipe behind the MAF...and then into the turbo, and throughout the piping and IC and such.charles said:OK help Mr. Stupid out here. Will this help to keep oil and stuff out of intercooler and other air piping? I used intercooler tubes from old turbo Volvos (there are a disproportionate number of them in junkyards, bad maintenance!!), and most of them had oil and stuff in them. (sick)
Im glad your friend showed me that, that was the first time i really got to check out a srt-4.Im not sure i met you, but your friend seemed like a real nice guy.SP33D said:yeh that was my friend who had it on his srt-4.. pretty nifty idea. After driving around all day with the catch can inline of the valve cover vent. I got NO oil at all. Now heres the catch. I have thought in the past that my pcv valve was going bad. I had some mysterious oil missing before, and pulled the valve and saw some oil residue on the line. I played around with it blowing in it and shaking it, and my oil problem was gone. So today i hook the PCV valve up to the catch can, drive about 4 miles, hitting boost radomly. My boost spikes up 12.5psi (im running 10.5 now not sure if this was radom or what, but my boost never spikes) I get to where im going, pop the hood, and the can is 1/3 way full.Little Beavis said:Keep us updated on how much oil you get in there.
Little Beavis said:So, Cooch and YP5. . .are your recommendations to do this to both? And what kind of catch can do you recommend?
Thanks Patrick, I appreciate you pointing out my typo. . . Kind of funny, but certainly not what I had intended. . .now back to the thread at hand before I report you to the mods for threadjacking. . .whoa. . .wait a minute. . .LinuxRacr said:(lol) You inadvertantly called him a cooch!
Hahaha! I think I'm gonna try this mini catch can thing.Little Beavis said:Thanks Patrick, I appreciate you pointing out my typo. . . P.S. Don't you have a standalone to install? Get to work!
You have an exhaust leak that is messing with your AFR? (uhm)PaulMP3 said:i now know why i had a boost spike.. seems i have a bad exhaust leak where my mani touches the engine. THis was also screwing with my AFR since i use the MAF to tune with. I had my mani off last week, im gonna grab a new gasket while im picking up my PCV valve.
My MPI tuner runs off the MAF and throttle position so i am assuming that becausr of the leak, i am hitting boost much later (definitly can feel the xtra lag) Iit is dumping fuel to early since my boost comes on later.Little Beavis said:You have an exhaust leak that is messing with your AFR? (uhm)
What were you doin' to it man? I think you need to replace the exhaust gasket every time, otherwise, you'll leak, those metal gaskets are not reusable.
