Official NEPOC Spring Cleaning Thread

well I hopefully won't need to black out my new headlight.. looking into getting a pair of the canadian headlights :D.. and since my new frontend will be freshly painted I won't need to do much spring cleaning at all. Still planning on coming to the meet though :)

nah, there's still plenty of spring cleaning to do, such as clay the rest of your car (I bet the bottom of the doors & the rear are crying out for it), and put a good coat of wax on her.

ive neevr clayed my car, so i dont know what i would bring with me. i hope i can attend this and learn some tricks to cleaning my car!

I do have a list of small odds and ends that need to work their way onto the p5 though, I need to put a hood prop kit i never put on the car from two summers ago. and maybe some H.I.D.S. since i wouldnt know WTF id be doing, if people wouldnt mind helping? and then some rock blockers with the new fog lense im going to be getting soon. is this feasible or should I just leave all this junk home?

what clay bar do you guys use? I need a new bar. I used to use Mother's, I think?
Clay Magic (e.g. sold in AutoZone) is the cheapest ($10 w/ clay lube) and is good.

Mother's is also fine, but it's $6 more for the same thing (plus they throw in a little bottle of cleaner wax, but I dont' care for it).

I can bring a bunch of claybars to the meet, pick up a bunch at AutoZone beforehand.

Not 10, the meet is Sat. April 14th, just like it says in the first post.

Sure, but it all depends on the level of clean you want to take it too, as well as it's current condition and what it will take to get it clean. Simple Green is a great degreaser.

how does one clean the engine bay anyway? do you have to use tons of wipes or do you just spray it down with something?

spray bottle plus shop towels is what I go by... but of course my engine bay doesn't hold a candle to what a lot of NEPOCers claim are "daily drivers".

My car is driven daily.....just not very far.

Depending on the level of dirt and/or grime you may have, combined with the level of clean you want to get to, equals time. That's it.
