You sure it didn't just cloud/dull the clear coat?

My dad had the car detailed afterwards. It looked a little better but once the wax wears off there is an obvious dull spot. My sister is driving the car now.

Scalding hot water will destroy the clear coat. Just ask my mom. She tried pouring hot water in her door jam to unfreeze her door one day...it took the clearcoat and some of the paint right off leaving a dull finish to the car doors.

true story.. my sister did the same thing to her contour.. hot water is BAD!

Correction....Very Hot water on freezing metal or glass is always a bad idea.

I just did the oposite. Sold my tacoma for a MS6 and couldn't be happerier. I was so sick of a truck after 7 years.

you have a mazdaspeed 6.. I'd be happy with one of those too.

The only reason I'm getting a tacoma is so I'll have something to drive in the winter when I can't drive the miata

Thanks for the offer. Honestly it would be tough time wise, both with my work and now that it's winter season. If it was spring I'd say come on down. When are you looking to sell?

I'm looking to sell ASAP so probably no dice.

Spring, however, I may take you up on that offer, and hopefully I'll have a new (used) miata to shine up.
