New MS3 owner checking in:
2008.5 Crystal White Pearl MS3 Grand Touring
It came with the pearl satin (metal) fuel filler door which I want to replace with the stock CWP door. It also came with horrible black and gray pinstripes that need to be removed (along with the door moldings). Then a tint job and I will be happy for a while. I don't want to do anything that might void the warranty and it's already stupid fast. The car has an interesting story: the dealership that I bought it from bought out a bankrupt dealership's inventory. Even though this car was never sold to a customer, the original dealership had reported it sold in order to get their payout from Mazda. They actually had a bunch of cars with 9-200 miles that were certified pre-owned because of this kind of situation. The good thing about a Mazda CPO is the 7/100k powertrain warranty, and 3 mo/3k extension to the bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Now I need to sell my previous car: a 2006 Black Mica MZ3 5-door GT. I wanted to trade it in but every dealership I talked to low-balled me on it (~$7k wtf!) because it has a manual transmission and 70k miles. It's loaded (sunroof/Bose, Sirius, etc.) and in great shape. Edmunds, KBB, etc. quoted $9-12k for the trade-in value so I am going to see what Carmax will offer before doing the private party thing.
Funny thing is that my insurance is only $2 more per month with the MS3
I have also somehow been getting better gas mileage with the MS3 and I haven't exactly been taking it easy on the gas pedal!

yea, this one is an 08, lol...
the R32 is a great car, for sure... but would be near perfect with about 50 more hp. or a lot less weight. but, this car is tons cheaper, better MPG... its my first non-VW in 3+ years... we shall see how it treats me! haha.
must resist modding bug....... riiight...

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forum but I've lurked for a few weeks. In my short stay here I've learned a lot. Thanks for all the info.

I'm in between DC and Baltimore, MD
My last car was a mildly modded 35th Anniversary Z28 6-speed. I can honestly say the MS3 is much more satisfying, and fun, to drive. I thought I would miss the endless tidal wave of torque flowing from the venerable LS1, but I really am much happier with the MS3. A little boost goes a long way. Also, I had almost forgotten what "steering feedback" was. It's good to be back in a properly sorted car.

I am new here, finally got my 2008 MS3 GT, I love it, I want to mod some more, maybe some rims. I was thinking in some black rims with the red lips or line, but I don't want to over do it either. I would like to hear some opinions, good or bad, it does not matter!!!
