Official Goodbye...'07 White FWD GT

:
Mazda CX-7 FWD
Haven't been here in awhile. Leased the CX7 on January 2007. Drove it till DEC. 2008. In between, it came with those bad rotors which would make the steering & whole car shake like crazy during braking, crossed the "12,000 mile mark" according to dealer, so I was like screw it, i'm not paying for new rotors. (sometimes the rotors would fix them selves(dunno). Then the embarrassing smoking started on Feb. 2008. I was so scared, I wanted to cry...I was blinding ppl on the road and this was when I was starting a trip from NYC to Mt. Killington, VT. Then that fixed itself and obviously there would be SMOKE SESSIONS on and off till the end of the lease. I returned it below 33,000 miles and told them to change some things on that car b4 selling. The whole turbo lag thing is BS, the computer was obviously programmed to give very little boost in 1st gear, couple that with DBW lag, made for very unsatisfying around town acceleration. I did change out the audio system head unit and all (FS Double Din dash Kit, PM me) and had kicker sub with 1-channel class D amp... and that was the only thing good about the car and maybe the highway ride and the fact that you can load the car up extremely heavy, like 5ppl in the back seat along with luggage, and the rear would not sag much...

After CX7, I picked up '09 Sub. Legacy 5spd Manual (no turbo, 175hp) Much more satisfying off the line acceleration than CX7 Turbo, but way too much road noise.

Now, since Toyota is trying to get sales, they paid off my Legacy lease which had 7 months left...

2011 Camry V6 SE Auto Trans. perforated leather is what I have now. WOW is all I have to say. Same price as CX7, but now I have explosive tire roasting acceleration, I am in G37/IS350 category when it comes to acceleration (after installing K&N Typhoon intake [Sound is awesome too]). Best part, zero delay off-the-line acceleration and 0-60 time around 5.5 sec. Extreme sleeper car. and I'm getting around 33mpg(WTF?!) on long hwy drives IF i'm not "on it". Thats even more than 4 cyl. Legacy. I'm glad less ppl are buying Toyotas, cuz I wanna be the only one with this monster sleeper. I don't think there is any vehicle out there that can give this type of aggressive acceleration with such good gas mileage. Wow, CX7 had horrible gas mileage, what was I thinking??

BTW, I have '00 Camry V6 LE with 5spd Stick & Leather (Super rare and quick). Also '93 V6 SE 5spd stick, finally started gasket problems at 320,000 miles.

Any way, have fun with your CX7 Turbos, hopefully you guys can find a way to reprogram the computer to give full acceleration in 1st gear. (bolt)

Glad you found something you like. 5,5 sec to 60 in a Camry-must be a very special Camery to be able to blow off Mustangs & Cameros etc.

Rotors are typically cheap and easy to replace but if i leased a car and it was doing this and smoking turbo id be pissed too.

CX7 should be pretty quick with a downpipe and tuned (Standback or a cobb ap) We test drove one and both my wife and I liked it. if it had a manual option we would of bought it.

Camry sounds like a nice ride, they certainly are sleepers now that they have a 6 speed and 268hp V6. i always use to associate them as slow cars.
