UPDATE!

Tony emailed me yesterday and said, "All the bends are here and production starts tomorrow. We will try to stay on them as much as we can, but will have to fit some other small projects in here and there."

"HEADERS are coming along well and we should be able to send off a few pics tomorrow. I may want guys to send in payments a soon as this Friday if at all possible. We are shipping first come first served and are going by time of first deposit." - Tony

I just joined this forum. I have had my 2000 Protege since it was new with 8 miles on it and recently started to upgrade a lot of the car. I came across the AWR headers on the AWR site and am interested in ordering them, but I haven't had a reponse from the site. By the sound of this thread the headers cant be bought anymore, and the company will soon stop making them all together. I was wondering, since some in this forum seem to talk with Tony, if you could see what the odds would be of me being able to order a set of headers. I would have loved to have gotten in on your group by if I had known about it, but alas that wasnt the case. I would really love a set of those headers however. Or if that isnt a viable option, does anyone know of a place that currently sells headers for my car other than AWR. Or am I stuck having to find a random shop to throw something together for me. I currently have the corksport exhaust, AEM short RAM intake, JET Chip ECU reprogramming, and already tightened up my suspension with Tokico Blues and Eibach springs..... so headers is pretty much the best next step for me. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can't get the AWR, there's always the OBX header. Not the greatest but not the worse. They go for pretty cheap if used or you can check protegegarage.com. I have my OBX header if you want to buy it. Only thing is that it has been repainted matte black. The paint may flake again, but you can wrap it with header wrap.

I'll email him first thing Monday morning. I'm sure he would have ordered extra parts, so there may be enough material for another one. But, like Circuit said, I would just call Tony. If he can get you in, you could just go ahead and make the payment too.

Tony is suppose to email me pics later today. He said everthing is on track. Looks like the first set will be ready to ship Friday!!! I'll be calling in my payment today or tomorrow.

He also wanted to know if you guys wanted anything else (motor mounts, etc) that could fit in the box. He would just ship it all together.

....JET Chip ECU reprogramming...
after doing a little research, you should have saved your money, that "ECU reprogramming chip" does absolutely nothing for you. its pretty much saying its an air to fuel controller that does all the work for you yet its only $350. they also have "modules" that control a way an automatic transmission shifts, you can either set it to "stock" "slightly harder" and "race".... so you can make your tranny shift hard. woo, thats not bad for it or anything -_-. not ripping you apart, the company, theres a lot of scams out there that can be quite convincing.

sorry to thread jack but i thought he should know.

So are you telling me that you think it does absolutely nothing to adjust my fuel/air curves, or that there was a better option? Other than a Haltech standalone, that I do plan to get many years down the line when I am ready to move away from NA. What I would say was a waste was the motor mount inserts from Corksport that I put in, as recommended by their site for their exhaust. All they did was make the entire car shake and vibrate way too much to the point that my radiator developed a leak... needless to say I took them out after I realized they weren't "breaking in" and were damaging my car.

Here are some pics! Tony is ready to ship. Please let me know when you send in final payment and I'll update the main page. I'm sending my payment today.
