Official Alabama meet thread

Ok so I've noticed an increase in activity in the 'Bama forum recently, so lets get a meet going! We haven't had an actual mazda meet around here in far too long.

There seem to be more people in the Huntsville area than Birmingham, so I guess we'll plan for heading up there unless we can get some other from the Ham involved.

Everybody post up! Let's get some ideas flowing. The Auto-x season starts soon, so maybe we can get some people out to one of those just as a "starter meet"

I've just recently talked to a company about taking a job in Huntsville.....but i'm still in Birmingham atm....either way, we need to see how many we could drag up for a meet.

I can try but my schedule is pretty fun with family work and school. The 23rd through 25th the teamtac is putting on a driving school that I have registered for if any of you are interrested in.

Ok so it looks like well be doing this in huntsville, maybe at that eigth mile track out in the boonies. I dont know Huntsville very well, so we need you who are up there to figure out a good spot to host a small meet. I'll get on the TN board too and see if anyone might be interested.

Ill be there available on the 15th. I've got a 2006 Mazda 3 Sedan. I'll try and get a friend with a MS3 and a bad White MZ3 Sedan to come. Just keep us informed.

I'll ask some Manager buddies I have. I don't know why they would say no. Huge open lot. But doing burnouts and junk might get the 5-0 on us, since they're right down the road. I could also ask my mom if we could do it at the Sam's Parking Lot on University.

What about that mall right next to that funky highway that goes up and down, I know theres a bunch of stuff to do and a big open lot over there, plus we could probably shoot up into the older part of town to take pictures.

That's Parkway Place Mall off of 231/431, Or South Memorial Parkway as we call it. That could be a cool place. I had to get angry with some mall cop that look like he was still in high school. I stopped in the covered lot to take a phone call instead of driving and he comes out all dorky looking and knocks on my window. I roll down the window and before he could say anything I told him never to put his hands on my car again, and to chill the .... out I'm taking a phone call. He goes and says the mall is closed and I need to leave...wtf? I might just have a bad problem with police.

There's Madison Square Mall off of University, Best Buy right across the street. Sam's at the next light, then keep taking University East towards 231 then go South on 231 and Drake Avenue Exit is Parkway Place if I'm not mistaken.

It's all french to me man, I can get around Huntsville alright, but I dont more than 2 or 3 street names. Yeah mall cops are fun. It's nice cause you can just completely f**king ignore them, and there's not a damn thing they can do except call the real police, and all they can do is ask you nicely to leave.

if the mall rent-a-cops arent pricks, i'd say to have it on the top level of parkway place mall. we can have it in a back corner and take pics along the wall or something.

I'm thinking we'll aim to start around noon, hang out for a couple hours, then go get some food and take pictures. Probably should be done by 4 or 5.
