off the line

How can I make my P5/2003 quicker off the line? Everything is still stock, just getting start. Mama just gave the OK to put some money, alittle money into it. I mean I told her I was going to put some money into it. I would like to keep my warrenty in tack.

Unfortunely there is not much you can do to make a P5 quicker in straight line, without voiding the warrenty. In some dealers even a intake will void warrenty, though there are laws againts this. But best thing to do here is just swap the stock one in before service.

The P5 is more of a handler than a drag racer. Get some sway bars, nice coil-over set etc.

Though some dealers have been known to allow headers, cams etc if they installed them as to not void the warrenty. Try asking your service center and getting to know them if you truely plan more performance. Couldn't hurt to have a friend in there :)

Just get some exhaust work done, intake, cams, it all depends on your budget...

Or, try this thrifty techinique if you want to have some warranty work done pretty soon AND take off quicker...
1. Deflate front tires to 15PSI
2. Fully Depress Throttle with Clutch Fully Depressed
3. Let your foot off the clutch real quick.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! LOL

or if your in an automatic. Use your free foot to hold down the break, and hit the gas. then let off the breake, hahahha

i wouldnt seriously try it though

Good tires, LSD and driving skill. Some suspension work won't hurt either.

I would think some LSD would hamper your driving skills....:D Oh there's a giant PENGUIN flying through the air.....:D

hehe the ole power braking trick :) It works just do not do it repeatly or on wet groud, sand, or a really sticky street/track.

I used it alot in my old Saturn, and it worked pretty well to getting the times down. However the Saturns suffered from a really weak point in the tranny. If one wheel spun, while the other caught traction then it would easily snap a little 2 cent pin. Had to replace a tranny :(

But so far I've power braked in the p5 with good success just don't do it alot. Gone to about 2500 and went. :)

you forgot to tell him to punch the gas :( now he's just gonna jump and stall :(

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I'll have to over take them in the truns. Suspension work he I come.
Can I do one thing at a time(lower-tires-sway bar-struts) or are there combinations that go together?

whats wrong with that? its called "brake torqueing" and the car magazine use it automatics to test acceleration....i do it in my car sometimes, nothing sounds or feels weird afterwards

Thats not going to help you off the line. Thats is all for upper rpm range power. A supercharger or nitrous will help you off the line. LSD, drag slicks, springs, shocks, head work.
