Just out of curiosity, can the mazdaspeed exhaust shield fit over the non-turbo manifold?

I'm guessing the bolt holes don't line up at all, and you would need to seriously modify the cover to fit, but I thought I'd ask.

As far as I know not without some modification. I only have a 1.6L so I can't measure it up to give you an idea.
