OEM Spark Plugs huhhhhhhhhh??????????

:
mazdaspeed 3 white
hey everyone i am having major problems here i need to change my spark plugs on my 2009 mazdaspeed 3 and i heard our cars have NGK why am i seeing FOMOCO?

FOrd MOtor COmpany? We have a good bit of FOMOCO on our cars.

Not certain, but I believe that Ford rebranded the NGK's for OEM identification. I'm pretty sure that the stock plugs are manufactured by NGK for Mazda.

To my knowledge only NGK and Denso are making true iridium center electrode plugs for automotive applications.

Correct NGK number for the STOCK, OEM plug (not one step colder!) is:

NGK Laser Iridium ILTR6A-8G. Stock gap is .032 inches.

My question is why do you need to change your plugs. you have that many miles already. PLugs should be good for around 60,000 miles. ( i think NA is 75,000). unless you are going ot a colder plug with your mods.

Read the fine print (on your spark plugs).
Notice the word "Japan".

You should always insist on genuine FoMoCo quality replacement parts. :)

High boost, high compression, high head temps and DISI fuel injection systems, all in combination in the same application, are hell on spark plug life.
