OEM Cams

I'm about to pull the cams out of my P5 and send them to Crower for a build up and agressive regrind, but if anyone has swapped out their OEM cams for the J-spec and still has the OEMs laying around, I'll buy them and send those instead. That'd cut down on the time I'd be without the car. How's $40 a piece sound. I can even send my OEMs back to you when I'm done.

I'd also will need to give Crower the profile specs to grind to. Does anybody have an idea of how much lift I can get on the stock valve springs without float or bind? How about duration and over lap? I'm thinking about 233 intake/225 exhaust, and adjusting in about 6 degrees lap for starters. The head will be cc'd and decked for 10.5:1, and lightly ported, maybe extrude honed too. Any ideas?

see, this is why i think i need to read a book or two. I have no idea what you just said.
 
Hey wait a minute!!!He said he had some extra stock heads!!!I wonder if some port work on one could squeeze some extra hp from our motors??? :D :D :D :D
 
UR NOT GONNA GET BARLEY ANYTHING OUTTA THESE MOTORS...THEY ARE PRETTY MUCH PORT AND POLISHED OUTTA THA DLR..NOT REALLY THEY ARE JUST BUILT TOO CLEAN..GET ME
 
i will let u know i am getting 1 of my heads ported now. manely won't have the valve blanks until mid march. they are $19 a valve, every1 eles wanted 30+. then i'm gonna need springs, retainers, locks, and some custom cams grinds. u can get the cam blanks from mazdamotors.com
